The Problem
You are treated as a commercial operator whilst running a PV plant and supplying power to the public network.
As in every business activity, you are responsible for all damage that occurs to third parties as a result of these activities. You generally bear the risk for falling parts. You are liable for damage to rented roofs, buildings and land on which the plant is operated. As the operator, you are also liable for damage caused by feeding electricity into the public network.
As this is a separate, stand-alone activity, a stand-alone liability insurance policy is also normally necessary.
